Paul S. Rooy has been a registered practitioner with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office since 1991, having secured over one hundred patents for his clients during that time. An Attorney licensed to practice law in Florida, Paul has been a member of the Florida Bar Association since 1995. He worked in state courts for the State Attorney’s Office in Alachua County and as a Special Public Defender in Volusia County. He is admitted to practice in the Middle District of Florida federal court.

Education.

Paul is a Mechanical Engineer, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree majoring in Design from Columbia University in New York City (1978).

He received a Masters Degree in International Management with Honors from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird Campus) in Phoenix, Arizona (1981).

Paul holds a Juris Doctor degree with Honors from the University of Florida (1995).

Paul has taught seminars in intellectual property and intellectual property legal research, and has completed numerous continuing legal educational classes and seminars.

International Experience.

Paul lived in Holland four years, and Argentina eight years as a missionary kid. He held positions as International Marketing Representative (Latin America) for Westinghouse Power Systems Company, International Sales Manager (South America) for Piper Aircraft, and Director, International Sales (Worldwide) for Lake Aircraft. Paul speaks fluent Spanish, some Portuguese, and some English (just kidding – he’s pretty good in English!).
